A Winter Poem

Gently falling flakes of white
On rooftops, on treetops through the night
As daylight loomed this vision of white
All around an incredible sight.

A landscape of beauty all around
From rooftops to treetops to the ground
The sound of laughter as children played
On snow covered ground where a snowman was made.

Through broken clouds appeared a watery sun
The melting of the snow had begun
Goodbye to winter, hello to spring
We wait to see what next winter might bring.
